Fergusson Winery, about a 5 minute walk. Our closest neighbour and our closest partner. A working winery with a restaurant and a wedding venue, and the only cellar door in the valley you can reach from us without a car.
The property itself, 10 acres. A lake, a fire pit, gardens, a covered BBQ pavilion and vineyard on three sides. Worth an hour before you go anywhere.
Under five minutes by car
Immerse, about 2 minutes. Winery, restaurant and gardens on the Melba Highway. One of the best known venues in Dixons Creek.
DiVino Ristorante, a few minutes. Italian-inspired dining at e'Stellar Estate, surrounded by vines.
De Bortoli Yarra Valley Estate, a few minutes north. One of the region's best known names, with a cellar door and restaurant on Pinnacle Lane.
Ten to twenty minutes
Yarra Glen, about 6 km. The nearest town. Cafes, a bakery, a pub, the racecourse and a supermarket if you are self-catering.
Yarra Valley Racing, Yarra Glen. Relaxed country race meetings through the year, and an easy day out that does not involve wine tasting.
Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery, Yarra Glen. The most family-friendly stop in the region, and busy on weekends for good reason.
TarraWarra Museum of Art, towards Healesville. Contemporary Australian art in a building set into the hillside.
Twenty minutes and beyond
Healesville Sanctuary, about 15 km. Australian native wildlife in bushland. Allow half a day.
The Black Spur. The road north from Healesville towards Narbethong, through mountain ash and tree ferns. About half an hour from us to the start of the good part.
Redwood Forest, Warburton. A stand of Californian redwoods planted in the 1930s, and an easy flat walk. Further than everything else on this list and still worth it.
Things you do not drive to
A sunrise balloon flight. Global Ballooning operate across the valley, including private group flights.
A wine tour or e-bike day. Yarra Valley X arrange local experiences and can collect you from the property.
